Michael Bloomberg has recently donated $50 million to support Kamala Harris’s campaign.
This donation was made through the Future Forward USA Action, a group described as the “dark money arm” of the pro-Harris Future Forward super PAC .
This organization is not required to disclose its donors according to a report.
This is not the first time Bloomberg has contributed to the campaign, as he has already given $47 million in federally disclosed political contributions this election cycle.
His contributions include $19 million to President Biden’s main super PAC, which Harris took over, and $10 million to the House Democratic campaign arm.
Bloomberg’s donations have sparked controversy, with some accusing him of trying to buy influence and others criticizing his hypocrisy on gun control.
Despite this, Bloomberg remains a significant contributor to the Democratic party and a influential figure in politics.
[According to a report by The New York Times, the $50 million donation from Bloomberg is one of the largest single contributions to a presidential campaign in recent history.
The donation was made in the final weeks of the campaign, as Harris was facing a financial shortfall and struggling to compete with other candidates in the primary.
While others are criticizing and accusing him of trying to buy influence, others are questioning the ethics of such a large contribution from him.
Notwithstanding, Harris supporters acknowledged that the donation is a much-needed boost to her campaign and will help her compete against other better-funded opponents.
“Michael Bloomberg’s donation is a game-changer for Kamala Harris’s campaign,” said a spokesperson for the Harris campaign.
“It will allow us to compete on a level playing field with other candidates and ensure that Kamala’s message is heard by voters across the country.”
The Bloomberg donation is most needed now as Kamala Harris is facing a critical moment in her campaign says a supporter.
After a strong start, Harris has struggled to maintain momentum and has been overshadowed by other candidates in recent weeks.
The donation will provide a much-needed boost to her campaign and help her stay competitive in the primary.
